Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. ECM is located inside of firewall, directly behind driver's seat and luggage compartment. See Figure and Fig 1.
  2. Apply tape to end of screwdriver to prevent scratching interior components. Using screwdriver, remove door opening scuff plates, lower trim covers and quarter trim covers. See Fig 1. Remove luggage compartment lids and luggage compartment boxes for access to ECM. Disconnect electrical connectors at ECM. Remove cover, retaining bolts, brackets and ECM.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure ignition keys are registered to the ECM. See IGNITION KEY REGISTRATION  under PROGRAMMING.
