Fluid Temperature Sensor (RAV4): Removal

NOTE: When removing the solenoid bolt, do not remove the solenoid wiring harness.

Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect solenoid connector. Remove the solenoid retainer bolt. See Figure. Remove the left side engine cover. Drain fluid and remove transaxle oil pan. See DRAINING & REFILLING under LUBRICATION. Disconnect the 5 shift solenoid connectors. Remove the bolt and lock plate. See Figure. Remove the fluid temperature sensor. Separate the wiring harness from the 2 clamps.
