Using TOYOTA Hand-Held Tester

Start engine and check that the VSC warning light blinks. If it does not blink, inspect VSC warning light circuit and Ts terminal circuit. See SYSTEM TESTS . To check steering angle sensor, turn steering wheel left or right from stationary position to full, lock position. To check yaw rate sensor, drive vehicle at an approx. speed of 3 mph and turn steering wheel to left or right 90 degrees or more, and maintain a 180 degree circular drive of vehicle. Stop vehicle and place shift lever in P position, check that the VSC buzzer sounds for 3 seconds. Read DTC by following prompts on TOYOTA hand-held tester.

NOTE: After a NEW ECU is installed for the first time only, start the engine and keep the vehicle in stationary condition on a flat surface for 3 seconds or more. Zero point calibration and yaw rate sensor calibration will be performed automatically.
