Description & Operation

Keyless entry system allows doors to be locked and unlocked by use of low-power electrical waves emitted from a hand-held remote transmitter. Pushing lock button once will turn on theft deterrent system and will lock all doors. Each time lock button is pushed, one beep will be heard and turn signals will flash once.

Pushing unlock button once will turn off theft deterrent system and unlock driver's door. Pushing transmitter unlock button again within 3 seconds will unlock other doors. Each time unlock button is pushed, 2 beeps will be heard and turn signals will flash twice. If doors are not opened within 30 seconds, all doors will automatically relock. When doors are unlocked using transmitter, interior and ignition switch lights will come on for about 15 seconds and then fade out gradually.

When ignition key is in ignition key cylinder, door control relay will prevent doors and luggage compartment from opening. If after wireless door lock or unlock operation, door lock condition does not change, wireless door lock receiver stops signal reception and stops door lock and unlock function. Door lock control receiver is protected by DOME fuse (10-amp) and DOOR LOCK fuse (25-amp) located in engine compartment relay block and by RADIO fuse (7.5-amp) located in instrument panel junction block.
