Cruise Control Ecu Power Source Circuit

  1. Locate ECU-IG (5-amp) fuse in instrument panel junction block on lower left side of instrument panel. See Figure. Remove fuse and verify fuse continuity. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is not okay, check for short in wire between terminal No. 3 (Black/Yellow wire) of cruise control ECU connector and ECU-IG fuse.
  2. Remove cruise control ECU with connector attached. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage (backprobe) between terminals No. 9 (Black/Orange wire) and No. 16 (White/Black wire) of cruise control ECU connector. See Figure If battery voltage is not present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, no problem is indicated at this time. Fault may be intermittent. If sent here from SYMPTOM TESTS, perform next test under appropriate symptom.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect cruise control ECU 16-pin connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 16 (White/Black wire) of cruise control ECU connector. If resistance is one ohm or less, check wiring harness and connector between cruise control ECU connector and battery. Repair wiring harness as necessary. Retest system. If resistance is more than one ohm, repair open in White/Black wire in wiring harness.
