Remote Transmitter Registration
NOTE:
There are 4 different programming modes available. ADD mode is used to register new transmitter codes while retaining registration of existing transmitters. The maximum number of registered remote transmitters is 4. Attempting to register more than 4 remote transmitters will cause first remote transmitter registered to be erased. REWRITE mode eliminates all previously stored transmitter codes, and reprograms new ones. CONFIRMATION mode is used to determine how many transmitters are currently registered. PROHIBITION mode is used to erase all registered codes and cancels wireless door lock function.
- Ensure key is not in ignition switch. Open and unlock driver's door. Close and lock other doors. Within 5 seconds, insert and remove key from ignition switch 2 times. Go to next step.
- Within 40 seconds or less, open and close driver's door 2 times, insert key in ignition switch, then pull it back out. Go to next step.
- Within 40 seconds or less, open and close driver's door 2 times. Close all doors and insert key in ignition switch. Perform specified procedure to enter different programming modes:
- For ADD mode, turn ignition on and off one time. Remove key from ignition. Go to next step.
- For REWRITE mode, turn ignition on and off 2 times at about one-second intervals. Remove key from ignition. Go to next step.
- For CONFIRMATION mode, turn ignition on and off 3 times at about one-second intervals. Remove key from ignition. Go to step 5.
- For PROHIBITION mode, turn ignition on and off 5 times at about one second intervals. Remove key from ignition. Body ECU will perform LOCK/UNLOCK function 5 times to confirm that PROHIBITION mode has been selected. If door lock operation is as specified, all registered codes have been erased and wireless door lock registration will return to normal operation.
- Body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK function one time to confirm that ADD mode has been entered or 2 times to confirm REWRITE mode has been entered. If door lock operation is not as specified, return to step 1. If door locks do operate as specified, go to step 6.
- Body ECU automatically performs LOCK/UNLOCK function 1-4 times at one-second intervals to coincide with the number of transmitters which are currently registered. If no transmitters are currently registered, body ECU will perform LOCK/UNLOCK function 5 times. If door lock operation is not as specified, return to step 1.
- Within 40 seconds or less, depress and hold both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 1-1.5 seconds on transmitter being registered. Within 3 seconds, depress either LOCK or UNLOCK button again. Within 3 seconds, body ECU will perform LOCK/UNLOCK function once if transmitter code has been accepted, or twice if transmitter code has not been recognized. If transmitter code has not been recognized, return to step 1. If transmitter code has been recognized, repeat this step for every transmitter being added, go to next step.
- System will automatically return to normal operation if 40 seconds have elapsed since last body ECU response, driver's door is opened, key is inserted in ignition switch, or 4 different transmitter codes were registered at the same time.
