Cruise Control Systems: Operation: Notes

Depressing cruise control ON-OFF (main) button to ON position, activates cruise control system. CRUISE indicator light in instrument cluster comes on to indicate activation of system. To set speed, increase vehicle speed to desired speed (must be more than 25 MPH). Move cruise control switch down to SET/COAST position and release. Vehicle speed will now be maintained. In cruise control, vehicle may be operated at a higher speed, but when accelerator pedal is released, vehicle will return to speed previously set.

To cancel set speed, pull cruise control switch to CANCEL position, depress brake pedal, depress clutch pedal (M/T) or place shift lever in "N" position (A/T). If vehicle speed slows to less than 25 MPH, or vehicle speed drops 10 MPH less than preset speed, set speed will also automatically cancel.

Moving cruise control switch up to RES/ACC position and releasing it allows vehicle to return to preset speed. Moving cruise control switch up to RES/ACC position and holding it there gradually increases vehicle speed. Moving cruise control switch down to SET/COAST position and holding it there gradually decreases vehicle speed. If control switch is moved up or down and released vehicle speed will change by one MPH.
