- Checking Open Door Warning Light Bulb
Remove multi information display from center of dashboard. Remove and inspect open door warning light bulb. Using DVOM, check for continuity across bulb terminals. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb and retest system. If continuity does exist, go to next step. - Testing Door Courtesy Switch & Circuit
Check to see if door courtesy light comes on when each door is opened, and goes off when doors are closed. If courtesy light operates as specified, go to step 5. If courtesy light does not operate as specified, go to next step. - Remove door courtesy switch for affected door. Using DVOM, check for continuity between switch terminal and switch body. With switch released, continuity should exist. With switch depressed, continuity should not exist. If continuity is not as specified, replace door courtesy switch and retest system. If continuity is as specified, go to next step.
- Check for open/short circuit in wiring between affected door courtesy switch and body ECU, and between door courtesy light and body ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If no problem was found, go to next step.
- Checking Interior Lights & Fixtures
Check all bulbs for broken filaments. Replace as necessary. If bulbs are okay, check all light fixtures for loose connections or broken terminals. Using DVOM, check light fixtures with switches for continuity between switch terminals when turned to ON position. Repair or replace as necessary. If no problems were found, go to next step. - Checking Multi Information Display & Circuits
Closely examine multi information display printed circuit for kinks, breaks, open circuits or poor connections. Replace as necessary and retest system. If no problem was found, go to next step. - Disconnect body control ECU connector B5. See Figure. Check for continuity in the following circuits:
- Check Red wire between body control ECU connector terminal B5-25 and multi information display.
- Check Pink/Blue wire between junction block No. 4 under passenger's kick panel and multi information display.
