Description & Operation
Keyless entry system allows entry doors and luggage compartment to be locked and unlocked by the use of a hand held transmitter. All keyless entry functions are controlled through the Multiplex body control Electronic Control Unit (MPX body control ECU). A door control receiver communicates with remote transmitters and relays information to MPX body control ECU. Door control receiver is protected by a DOME (7.5-amp) fuse located in the engine compartment fuse block. See Figure. Driver and passenger door ECUs communicate with MPX body control ECU over a multiplex communication circuit and controls the lock for that door. Locks for rear entry doors and luggage compartment are directly wired to MPX body control ECU.
Depressing the remote transmitter UNLOCK button once will turn off theft deterrent system and unlock driver's door. Depressing remote transmitter UNLOCK button again within 3 seconds will unlock the other entry doors. If any door is not opened within 30 seconds, all doors will automatically lock.
