Cruise Control Function Test: Notes
NOTE:
Before performing CRUISE CONTROL FUNCTION TEST, perform DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Cruise control function test should only be performed if no self-diagnostic trouble codes are present.
Cruise control function test is used to help determine if control circuits are functioning properly when no trouble codes are present. Jack up vehicle so drive wheels are off the ground. To activate function test, start engine. Shift into drive. Turn cruise control system on and set SET/COAST or RES/ACC position and hold. Depress cruise ON-OFF (main) switch to ON position. Verify CRUISE indicator light comes on and flashes after 3 seconds. Release cruise control switch from SET/COAST position. Activate each switch circuit in order given. Verify normal function code is displayed by CRUISE indicator light, as each of the following circuits is activated:
