Test E: Ignition Switch Circuit

  1. Remove power seat control ECU from under driver's seat, with harness connectors still connected. Using a DVOM, backprobe connector P21 and measure voltage between terminal No. 13 and ground, with ignition switch on and off. See Figure.
  2. With ignition switch off, there should be no voltage. With ignition switch on, voltage should be 10-14 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to TEST F: STOP LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT . If voltage is not as specified, check GAUGE No. 1 (10-amp) fuse for an open.
  3. If fuse is open, check for a short to ground in all harness circuits and components connected to fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If fuse was not open, check and repair open in harness or connector between power seat control ECU and battery.
