Trouble Shooting: Notes
NOTE:
To help save diagnostic time, perform a brief visual inspection of wire harnesses, connectors, fuses and other related components. Perform trouble shooting procedures in order.
- Retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. Record DTCs, and then clear DTCs. See CLEARING DTCS under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS.
- Verify customer's complaint of symptom. If symptom does not occur, attempt to simulate by wiggling wire harnesses and connectors, and lightly tapping system components.
- If symptom occurs, recheck for DTCs. If DTC(s) are present, go to DTC IDENTIFICATION table under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. Perform appropriate test as directed and repair as necessary. If no DTCs are retrieved, go to SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS .
