Vehicle Access Code Programming
NOTE:
ADD mode adds additional transmitters until a total of 4 are present. REWRITE mode eliminates all previous transmitter codes and reprograms new ones. If more than 4 transmitters are programmed, the system will eliminate the first one programmed.
- Ensure key is not in ignition switch. Open and unlock driver's door. Close and lock other doors. Within 5 seconds, insert key in ignition switch and pull it back out 2 times. Go to next step.
- Within 40 seconds or less, open and close driver's door twice, insert key in ignition switch, then pull it back out. Go to next step.
- Perform this step in 40 seconds or less: open and close driver's door twice. Close all doors and insert key in ignition switch. Perform specified procedure to enter different programming modes:
- For ADD mode, turn ignition on and off one time at about one second interval. Remove key from ignition. Go to next step.
- For REWRITE mode, turn ignition on and off 2 times at about one second intervals. Remove key from ignition. Go to step 5.
- For CONFIRMATION mode, turn ignition on and off 3 times at about one second intervals. Remove key from ignition. Go to step 6.
- For PROHIBITION mode, turn ignition on and off 5 times at about one second intervals. Remove key from ignition. Go to step 7.
- Door lock control relay automatically performs LOCK and UNLOCK functions one time at one second interval to confirm that ADD mode has been entered. If door lock operation is not as specified, return to step 1. If door locks do operate as specified, go to step 8.
- Door lock control relay automatically performs LOCK and UNLOCK functions twice at one second interval to confirm that REWRITE mode has been entered. If door lock operation is not as specified, return to step 1. If door locks do operate as specified, go to step 8.
- Door lock control relay automatically performs LOCK and UNLOCK functions 1-4 times at one second intervals to coincide with the number of transmitters that are currently programmed. If no transmitters are currently programmed, door lock relay will perform LOCK and UNLOCK functions 5 times. If door lock operation is not as specified, return to step 1.
- Door lock relay will perform LOCK and UNLOCK functions 5 times to confirm that PROHIBITION mode has been selected. If door lock operation is as specified, all programmed codes have been erased and wireless door lock function has been cancelled.
- Within 40 seconds or less, press and hold both LOCK and UNLOCK switches simultaneously for 1-1.5 seconds on transmitter being programmed. Within 3 seconds, press either LOCK or UNLOCK switch again. Within 3 seconds, door control relay will perform LOCK and UNLOCK function once if transmitter code has been accepted, or twice under following conditions:
- If transmitter code has not been recognized. Attempt to program transmitter again by repeating this step.
- If a registered recognition code was received while selecting ADD mode.
- After programming is completed, registration of recognition code is completed 40 seconds after last door control relay response, driver's door is opened, key is inserted in ignition switch, or a total of 4 different transmitter codes are registered.
