Anti-Lock Brake System: Description
Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) consists of an ABS Electronic Control Unit (ECU), ABS solenoid relay, ABS motor relay, ABS actuator and 4 speed sensors. See Fig 1.
ABS indicator light and BRAKE light are located on the instrument cluster. Both indicator lights come on for 3 seconds as a bulb test when ignition is turned on. ABS indicator light will come on whenever an ABS-related malfunction occurs, and both ABS and BRAKE indicator lights will come on when EBD malfunction occurs.
