ECU Power Source

  1. Remove DOME (7.5-amp) fuse from engine compartment fuse/relay box. See Figure. Remove DOOR (25-amp) fuse from instrument panel fuse/relay box. If either fuse is blown, locate and repair short circuit in affected wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system. If both fuses are okay, go to next step.
  2. Reinstall fuses. Disconnect both theft-deterrent ECU connectors. Using DVOM, connect negative lead to theft-deterrent ECU 12-pin connector terminal T3-7 (White/Black wire), and measure voltage at theft-deterrent ECU 22-pin connector terminal T4-11 (Red wire) and theft-deterrent ECU 12-pin connector terminal T3-1 (Blue/White wire on Camry; Green/Black wire on Solara). See Figure. If voltage is 10-14 volts on both circuits, go to KEY UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH . If voltage is not 10-14 volts on both circuits, go to next step.
  3. Check for an open circuit in White/Black wire between theft-deterrent ECU 12-pin connector terminal T3-7 and ground. Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, locate and repair faulty circuit between theft-deterrent 22-pin connector terminal T4-11 (Red wire) or theft-deterrent ECU 12-pin connector terminal T3-1 (White/Blue wire on Camry; Green/Black wire on Solara) and battery. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
