Steering Angle Sensor: Recalibration

NOTE: When replacing Skid Control ECU or steering angle sensor, recalibration procedure will need to be performed.

Using a jumper wire, jumper check connector terminals Ts and E1 of DLC1. See Figure-Figure . Turn ignition on. Ensure the steering wheel off center angle is within 3 degrees of center before attempting calibration. Place shifter in PARK position. Press the VSC OFF switch and hold it while depressing the brake pedal 3 times within 2 seconds. Continue to hold the VSC OFF switch until the VSC buzzer (repeated beeping) sounds. Release the VSC OFF switch. The VSC buzzer will continue to sound for 3 seconds confirming the operation is complete. If VSC buzzer does not sound, repeat calibration procedure. If VSC buzzer still will not sound, steering angle sensor circuit is malfunctioning. See DTC 54: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MALFUNCTION  under VSC DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
