Throttle Position Sensor: RAV4

  1. Note location of E2 terminal (Brown wire), VC terminal (Yellow wire) and VTA terminal (Blue/Red wire) on TP sensor. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect electrical connector from Throttle Position (TP) sensor on throttle body. Apply vacuum to throttle opener.
  2. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between specified terminals in relation to throttle position. See TP SENSOR RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS (RAV4 - 2.0L)  table. Replace components as necessary if resistance is not within specification.
