Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect electrical connector from TP sensor on throttle body. Note terminal identification. See Fig 1. On A/T models, disconnect throttle cable from linkage before checking TP sensor.
  2. On all models, use ohmmeter to check resistance between specified terminals in relation to throttle position. See TP SENSOR RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Replace components as necessary if resistance is not within specification.

(1) On A/T models, disconnect throttle cable from linkage before checking TP sensor.
