Test 4

NOTE: Courtesy switch circuits include a diode. If circuit shows no continuity, reverse positive and negative leads and retest circuit.
  1. Driver's Door Courtesy Switch Circuit  - Turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect ATS ECU connectors. Open driver's door and close all other doors and engine hood. Ensure continuity exists between ground and ATS ECU connector "A" terminal No. 13 (Red/Yellow wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in harness or connectors as necessary.
  2. Passenger's Door Courtesy Switch Circuit  - Turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect ATS ECU connectors. Open passenger's door and close all other doors and engine hood. Ensure continuity exists between ground and ATS ECU connector "A" terminal No. 12 (Red/White wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in harness or connectors as necessary.
  3. Rear Door Courtesy Switch Circuit  - Turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect ATS ECU connectors. Open one rear door and close all other doors and engine hood. Ensure continuity exists between ground and ATS ECU connector "B" terminal No. 3 (Red/White wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in harness or connectors as necessary.
  4. Engine Hood Courtesy Switch Circuit  - Turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect ATS ECU connectors. Open engine hood and close all other doors. Ensure continuity exists between ground and ATS ECU connector "B" terminal No. 12 (Red wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair harness or connectors as necessary.
  5. Trunk Lid Courtesy Switch Circuit  - Turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect ATS ECU connectors. Open trunk lid and close all other doors and engine hood. Ensure continuity exists between ground and ATS ECU connector "B" terminal No. 10 (Red/White wire). If continuity does not exist, repair open in harness or connectors as necessary. If continuity exists in all courtesy switch circuits, check ATS ECU. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If found to be defective, replace ATS ECU and retest system.
