Test 10, Throttle Position (TP) Sensor IDL Signal

NOTE: Ensure throttle position sensor adjustment and operation are normal. For 1995 Previa, see ADJUSTMENTS , for 1996 Previa, see ADJUSTMENTS articles in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Adjust or replace throttle position sensor as necessary.
  1. Disconnect CC ECU connector. See Figure. With accelerator pedal released, check for continuity between ground and CC ECU connector terminal No. 23. See Figure. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, locate and repair open in wiring harness between TP sensor and CC ECU connector.
  2. With accelerator pedal depressed, check for continuity between ground and CC ECU connector terminal No. 23. If continuity does not exist, replace CC ECU and recheck system operation. If continuity exists, locate and repair short in wiring harness between CC ECU connector terminal No. 23 and TP sensor connector.
