Circuit Description

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is a thermistor mounted in the air cleaner housing to monitor air temperature flowing to MAF sensor. Code is set when ECM detects a open or short circuit. ECM will operate in fail-safe mode if Code P0110 is set. Possible causes are:

IAT sensor open or short circuit.
IAT sensor malfunction.
ECM malfunction.

NOTE: If Codes P0110, P0115 and P0120 are output together, inspect ECM connector "E7" terminal No. 9 (E2) ground circuit. Repair as needed. See the wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS - 2.7L article.
