Leaf Spring

  1. Using a chisel and a hammer, pry up the spring clip. See Fig 1.
  2. Remove the clip bolt, collar and nut from the clip. See Fig 2.
  3. Remove the dynamic damper. See Fig 2.
  4. Hold spring in a vise and remove center bolt. See Fig 3.
  5. Drill off the head of the rivet and drive it out. See Fig 4.
  6. Install a new rivet into the holes of the spring leaf and clip. Rivet with a press. See Fig 4.
  7. Align the leaf holes and secure the leaves with a vise. See Fig 5.
  8. Install the spring center bolt. Tighten spring center bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Position the collar and install the clip bolt and nut. See Fig 2.
  10. Position and install dynamic damper, bolt and nut. See Fig 2. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  11. Using a hammer, bend the spring clip into the position. See Fig 6.
