Trouble Shooting
WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disabling SRS. Back-up power circuit capacitor maintains system voltage for about 90 seconds after battery is disconnected. Servicing air bag system before 90 seconds may cause accidental air bag deployment and possible personal injury.
CAUTION:
Vehicles are equipped with Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). SRS wiring harness is routed close to instrument cluster, steering wheel and related components. All SRS wiring harnesses and connectors are Yellow. DO NOT use electrical test equipment on these circuits. Before working on anti-theft components, disable air bag system. See the AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM
article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
NOTE:
Audio system may be equipped with an anti-theft protection circuit. Whenever battery or power to radio is disconnected, radio will go into anti-theft mode. When battery or power is reconnected, radio will display SEC and an indicator light will come on. Audio system will be inoperative until proper 3 number code is entered. Obtain code from customer before disconnecting battery. If an incorrect code number is entered "Err" will display with a number 1-9. An incorrect 10th attempt to enter code number will require dealer to unlock audio system. See owner's manual for specific programing instructions.
NOTE:
Verify power door lock system, if equipped, is operating properly before trouble shooting Anti-Theft System (ATS). ATS will not operate properly if power door lock system is not operating properly. When ATS is not operating properly, lower door windows and determine under what conditions system does not operate or malfunctions.
