Engine Controls - Tests W/Codes - 4-CYL: Introduction

NOTE: Camry 3.0L is equipped with OBD-II self-diagnostics. See TESTS W/CODES - V6 article for servicing information on this vehicle.

If no faults were found while performing steps described in BASIC TESTING - 4-CYL article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section, proceed with self-diagnostics. If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) are present after entering self-diagnostics, proceed to steps in TESTS W/O CODES article for diagnosis by symptom (i.e., ROUGH IDLE, NO START, etc.).

NOTE: Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) will be referred to as trouble codes in this article.
