Positive Crankcase Ventilation

  1. Remove Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve, located in valve cover. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Attach hose to PCV valve. Blow air from cylinder head side of PCV valve. Ensure air passes easily through PCV valve.
  2. Blow air from intake manifold side of PCV valve. Ensure air passes through PCV valve with some restriction. Replace PCV valve if valve does not function as described.
