Inflator Module: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. Disable SIR system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Inflator module is located on steering wheel hub. Ensure front wheels face straight ahead.
  3. On Prizm, remove 2 side trim covers from steering column. Remove 2 Torx screws, Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect upper steering column electrical connector. Remove inflator module from steering wheel.
