Pressure Check
- Install hose, "T" fitting and pressure gauge in the hose to the actuator. On M/T models, accelerate vehicle with throttle valve fully open in 3rd gear. Note turbo pressure with engine RPM greater than 2500 RPM.
- On A/T models, drive vehicle from standing start with transmission in "L" with throttle valve fully open. Note turbo pressure with engine RPM greater than 3500 RPM.
- On all models, turbo pressure should be within specification. See TURBO PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table. If turbo pressure is less than specification, check intake air and exhaust systems for leaks.
- If no leaks exist, replace turbocharger. If turbo pressure exceeds specification, check actuator hose for leaks or cracks. If no leaks or cracks exist, replace turbocharger.
