Window Position

NOTE: Letters in parenthesis corresponds to letter in illustration.

The window position is adjusted by various nuts and bolts mounted to the window, window regulator and door. See Fig 1.

  1. Using a wrench, adjust the rear glass guide stud bolts (a). Turn both studs equally. Tightening the bolts moves the top of the glass outwards. See Fig 2.
  2. Loosen the rear glass guide nuts (b) to adjust the forward/rearward position of the window.
  3. Adjust the door glass stoppers (c) to adjust the vertical position of the window.
  4. Adjust the equalizer arm bracket mounting bolts (d) to adjust the rotational position of the window.
  5. Tighten all fasteners. When installing the front glass guide, temporarily tighten the two nuts (e) until they touch the inner door panel surface, then install the lock plate and tighten the bolt.
  6. Inspect the positioning of the glass. Ensure glass does not get caught in weatherstrip when door is closed with glass fully raised. Operate the window and ensure the glass and the roof weatherstrip retainer are parallel and that the front and rear window upper stops touch at the same time. Ensure gap between door trim support and glass is not excessive. Ensure glass moves smoothly.
