ABS Relay

  1. Disconnect ABS relay connector. See Figure or Figure . Using a DVOM, check continuity between ABS relay terminals No. 1 and 6. See Figure-14. Continuity should be present.
  2. Ensure continuity is present between relay terminals No. 3 and 5. Connect DVOM positive lead to relay terminal No. 4. Connect DVOM negative lead to relay terminal No. 5. Ensure continuity is present. Reverse DVOM connections between relay terminals No. 4 and No. 5. Continuity should not be present.
  3. Apply battery voltage between relay terminals No. 1 and 6. Check continuity between relay terminals No. 2 and 5. Ensure continuity is present.
  4. Connect DVOM positive lead to relay terminal No. 4 and negative lead to terminal No. 5. Ensure continuity is present. Reverse DVOM connections between relay terminals No. 4 and 5. Continuity should not be present. If continuity readings are not as specified, replace ABS relay.
