Corolla & Pickup

  1. Start engine. Disconnect vacuum hose from AAP diaphragm. Using a vacuum pump, apply and release vacuum directly to AAP at idle. Check that engine RPM changes when releasing vacuum. Reconnect AAP vacuum hose.
  2. Replace AAP diaphragm if a problem is found. If AAP functions as described, proceed to THERMOSTATIC VACUUM SENSING VALVE (TVSV) (COROLLA) or BI-METALLIC VACUUM SENSING VALVE (BVSV) (PICKUP).
