Corolla & Tercel

  1. Drain engine coolant. Remove switch from intake manifold. On Corolla, cool switch to less than 109°F (43°C). On Tercel, cool switch to less than 118°F (48°C). On all models, using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between switch terminal and body.
  2. On Corolla, heat switch in hot water to temperature more than 131°F (55°C). On Tercel, heat switch to a temperature more than 140°F (48°C). On all models, check that there is no continuity. If either function tests incorrectly, replace switch. Apply liquid sealer to threads before installation. Fill with coolant.
