Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Disconnect the service connector. See Figure.
- Connect the terminal Tc to E1 of the check connector. See Fig 1.
- In the event of a malfunction, 4 seconds later the warning light will begin to blink. The first number of blinks will equal the first digit of a two digit diagnostic code. After a 1.5 second pause, the second number of blinks will equal the second number of a two digit code. See Fig 2. If there are two or more codes, there will be a 2.5 second pause between each, and indication will be after a 4 second pause from the smaller value and continue in order to larger. For trouble code definitions, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
- If the system is operating correctly (no malfunctions), the warning light will blink two times per second. See Fig 3.
- Repair the malfunctioning parts.
- After the malfunctioning parts has been repaired, clear the diagnostic codes stored in the ECU. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .
- Disconnect the terminal Tc From E1 of the check connector. See Fig 1.
- Connect the service connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON, and check that the "REAR ANTI-LOCK" warning goes off after the warning light goes on for about two seconds.
NOTE:
Check connector is located in the right side of the engine compartment, attached to the fuse/relay box.
WARNING:
If you disconnect the battery cable while repairing, all diagnostic codes in the ECU will be erased.
