Automatic Transmission Enrichment

When an automatic transmission is shifted into DRIVE, it is necessary to enrichen the fuel mixture to compensate for the engine load produced by the torque converter.

This is accomplished by the use of the neutral safety switch and the ECU. When the transmission is shifted to DRIVE, the neutral safety switch provides a signal to the ECU which in turn makes adjustments to enrichen air/fuel mixture.
