Inspect Relay Circuit

Disconnect the relay connect and inspect the connector on the wire harness side as shown in the table below. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, and check that the solenoid operates lock direction. If circuit is correct, replace the relay.

CONTROL RELAY CHECK

Terminal Check For: Tester Connection Condition Voltage or Continuity
1 Continuity 1-Body Ground Turn door lock sw. to UNLOCK Continuity
1 Continuity 1-Body Ground Turn door lock sw. to except UNLOCK No Continuity
2 Voltage 2-Body Ground " Battery Voltage
5 Voltage 5-Body Ground " Battery Voltage
7 Continuity 7-Body Ground Turn door lock sw. to LOCK Continuity
7 " " Turn door lock sw. to except LOCK No Continuity
8 Voltage 8-Body Ground Turn ign. sw. on Battery Voltage
8 " " Turn ign. sw. off except LOCK No Voltage
9 Continuity 9-Body Ground Turn LH and/or R/H door courtesy sw. on Continuity
9 " " Turn LH and/or R/H door courtesy sw. off No Continuity
10 Continuity 10-Body Ground " Continuity
12 Voltage 12-Body Ground Turn ign. sw. on. Battery Voltage
12 " " Close LH & RH doors within 60 seconds after ign. sw. has been turned off Battery Voltage
12 " " 60 seconds after ign. sw. has been turned off No Voltage
12 " " Open LH &/or RH doors within 60 seconds after ign. sw. has been turned off No Voltage
