Glow Plugs

The glow plug system used a pre-heating timer and 2 relays to control glow plug current. See Figure and Figure . The glow plugs enable the engine to start easily in cold weather and run smoothly during warm-up.

Current is applied to the glow plugs for a specific time which is determined by engine coolant temperature.
