Center Support And Components: Inspection

  1. Check all components for wear or damage. Check center support oil seal rings and grooves for wear or damage. Check brake "1" and brake "2" springs for a free length of .635" (16.1 mm), coil outside diameter of .315" (8.0 mm) and for 6 coils.
  2. Check front one-way clutch by inserting sun gear into clutch and checking for rotation. From sun gear tooth end, sun gear should rotate counterclockwise but lock up in clockwise rotation. Check oil seal rings on sun gear. Replace components as necessary.
