Hot Idle COMPENSATOR Valve
- Remove hot idle compensator valve from air cleaner. Thermo wax should close valve at temperature listed. See THERMO VALVE CLOSING TEMPERATURES table . Check valve by placing finger over fitting to air cleaner line. Blow into intake manifold fitting. No air should pass.
- Now place thermo wax portion of hot idle compensator valve in hot water. DO NOT allow water to get inside valve. Place finger over fitting to air cleaner. Blow into intake manifold fitting. Air should pass. If valve does not respond as described, it must be replaced.
