Steering Column and Wheel - IP, Steering Column, Shroud Lower SUB - Remove And Replace: Remove
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD TRIM - REAR APRON ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See DASH PANEL - END CAP, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the driver footwell cover. See DASH PANEL - DRIVER FOOTWELL COVER ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the lower instrument panel. See DASH PANEL - IP LOWER, ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Disconnect the LV power. See LV Battery - Li-Ion - Disconnect And Connect .
- Remove the driver airbag. See FRONT AIR BAGS - DRIVER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the steering wheel. See STEERING COLUMN AND WHEEL - STEERING WHEEL - PUR LEATHER - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the steering column upper shroud. See DASH PANEL - SHROUD, UPPER - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the steering column lower shroud. See DASH PANEL - SHROUD, LOWER - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the steering column control module. See STEERING COLUMN AND WHEEL - STEERING COLUMN CONTROL MODULE KOSTAL - REMOVE AND REPLACE
- Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the lower gap hider to the steering column.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Cordless 1/4 in Dr Ratchet
- Torx T25 socket
- 6 in extension
- Remove the locator clips (x2), tabs (x4) and datums (x4) that attach the lower gap hider to the steering column.WARNING: The video(s) included in this procedure are meant as an overview for supplemental purposes only.
