Steering Column And Wheel - Steering Wheel, Lower Spoke Cover - Remove And Replace: Remove
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD TRIM - REAR APRON ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Disconnect the LV power. See LV Battery - Li-Ion - Disconnect And Connect .
- Remove the driver airbag. See FRONT AIR BAGS - DRIVER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the steering wheel. See STEERING COLUMN AND WHEEL - STEERING WHEEL - PUR LEATHER - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the airbag bracket bolts (x4) from the steering wheel and collect the springs (x4) underneath the bolts, and then disconnect the connector.NOTE: There is a spring under each of the 4 bolts; take care and do not lose them.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Cordless 1/4 in Dr Ratchet
- Torx T30 socket
- 4 in extension
- Remove the screws (x2) that attach the lower spoke cover to the front of the steering wheel.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Cordless 1/4 in Dr Ratchet
- Torx T8 bit
- 4 in extension
- Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the lower spoke cover to the back of the steering wheel.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Cordless 1/4 in Dr Ratchet
- Torx T20 socket
- Remove the harness from the lower spoke cover harness bracket.
- Remove the locator clips (x2) that attach the lower spoke cover to the steering wheel, and then remove the cover from the steering wheel.
