Body Controllers - Assembly, Front Controller GEN 3 - Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Remove the cowl screen panel. See UNDERHOOD TRIM - ASSEMBLY, COWL SCREEN, LHD - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  2. Disconnect LV power. See LV BATTERY - LI-LON - DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
  3. Disconnect the thermal harness from the front body controller module connector.

  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the front body controller module cover to the front body controller module, and then remove the cover.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
    • 10 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

  5. Disconnect the electrical harness from the front body controller module connectors (x5).

  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the ground strap to the lower right side of the front body controller module, and then remove the ground strap from the module.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
    • 10 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

  7. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the front body controller module to the body. Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 10 in extension
    • 10 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

  8. Tilt front controller forward for access, and then release LV negative harness clip from front controller.

  9. Remove the front controller from vehicle.
