ABS Modulator - Remove And Replace: Install
- Install the ABS modulator onto the bracket.
- Tighten the nuts (x2) that attach the ABS modulator to the bracket.
8 N.m (5.9 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- 2 in extension
- Position the ABS modulator into the vehicle for installation. Align the bracket into the body, and then attach the tabs (x2).
- Install the bolts that attach the ABS modulator to the LH frame rail.
10 N.m (7.4 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- 6 in extension
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Slide the electric steering column downward to install it into the steering gear assembly.
- Install the bolt that attaches the steering gear assembly to the intermediate shaft assembly.
18 N.m (13.3 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
- Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) - Remove And Replace .
- Partially lower the vehicle.
- Maneuver the master cylinder brake lines into position, and then fasten the clip that attaches the lines to the ABS modulator bracket.
- Install the RH front brake line into the front brake line bundle clip around the LH front rail area.
- Install the master cylinder brake lines to the 4 tube bundle clip.
- Install the master cylinder primary pipe nut to the ABS modulator.
16 N.m (11.8 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket
- 6 in extension
- Install the master cylinder secondary pipe nut to the ABS modulator.
16 N.m (11.8 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket
- 6 in extension
- Move the master cylinder lines into position for installation.
- Install the LH front brake pipe nut to the ABS modulator.
16 N.m (11.8 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket
- Install the RH rear brake pipe nut to the ABS modulator.
16 N.m (11.8 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket
- Install the LH rear brake pipe nut to the ABS modulator.
16 N.m (11.8 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket
- Install the RH front brake pipe nut to the ABS modulator.
16 N.m (11.8 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket
- Connect the electrical connector to the ABS modulator.
- Position the shock tower brace assembly for installation.
- Install the bolts that attach the LH side of the shock tower brace.NOTE: See image for proper torque specifications.
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Install the bolts that attach the RH side of the shock tower brace.NOTE: See image for proper torque specifications.
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Install the 12 V auxiliary battery. See 12 V/LV Battery (Remove and Replace) .
- Connect 12 V power. See 12 V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) .
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace) .
- Remove the steering wheel holder.
- Redeploy the vehicle firmware. See Software Reinstall - Toolbox .
- Perform brake fluid bleed/flush procedure. See BRAKE FLUID BLEED/FLUSH .
- Using Toolbox 3:
- Select the Actions tab and search for "Stiffness".
- Select the ODIN routine TEST_BRAKE_X_STIFFNESS-TEST-SERVICE, and then click the link of the routine.
- If brake pads or rotors have been replaced, select UNBURNISHED under "Action_Type". In all other cases, select BURNISHED .
- Click RUN,
and allow the routine to complete.NOTE: Do not press the brake pedal during the test.
