Steering Yoke/Wheel - Remove And Replace: Install
- Install the steering yoke/wheel to the steering column.NOTE: Align the splines on the steering column.NOTE: The splines are indexed and the steering yoke/wheel can only be installed in the correct position.
- With a new bolt, install the steering yoke/wheel to the steering column.
80 N.m (59.0 ft-lbs)
NOTE: Bolt PN - 1036655-00-A.NOTE: Note that the steering yoke/wheel is splined to the column.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 3 in extension
- 10 mm hex (H10 bit) socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Connect the steering yoke/wheel electrical connector to the steering yoke/wheel.
- Install the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace)
.NOTE: If the vehicle is retrofitted with a round steering wheel, a round steering wheel airbag should be in installed. Please read the part label to confirm the airbag type.
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) .
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
- Calibrate the rear doors.NOTE: If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
- Reinstall the vehicle software via touchscreen. See Firmware Reinstall - Touchscreen .
- On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Steering , and then use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust the steering column into original position.
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
