Pedal Assembly - Remove And Replace: Install

  1. Install new nyloc nuts (x5) that attach the pedal assembly to the bulkhead.

    16.5 N.m (12.2 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 13 mm socket
    NOTE: Install new nyloc nuts.
    NOTE: May need to pull the brake booster inward to seat the studs.

  2. Install the clevis pin to the brake pedal assembly, and then insert the cotter clip into the clevis pin.

  3. Fasten the clips (x3) and connect the electrical connector for the pedal electrical harness.

  4. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the upper steering column bracket.

    20 N.m (14.7 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm socket

  5. Install the IP carrier bolts (x2) at the bulkhead.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 13 mm socket

  6. Install the nuts (x4) that attach the upper steering column to the IP carrier, and then install the electrical connector.

    15 N.m (11.1 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 13 mm socket
    NOTE: Make sure that the harness is not pinched between the IP carrier and the steering column.

  7. Inspect the brake light switch.
    NOTE: Make sure the brake switch is in the neutral position before installation. Gently rotate the tab into neutral position, if not set.

  8. Connect the brake light switch electrical connector.

  9. Install the brake light switch.
    NOTE: Do not press the brake pedal during installation.
    NOTE: Rotate the brake light switch clockwise until it is in the locked position and flush to brake pedal assembly.

  10. Install the driver outboard jumper duct. See Duct - Jumper - Outboard - Driver (Remove and Replace .
  11. Install the driver instrument panel duct. See Duct - Instrument Panel - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
  12. Install the instrument panel sub-assembly. See Sub-Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace) .
  13. Remove the lower instrument panel. See Instrument Panel - Lower (Remove and Replace) .
  14. Install the steering column control module. See Module - Steering Column Control (Remove and Replace) .
  15. Install the steering column lower shroud. See Shroud - Lower - Steering Column (Remove and Replace) .
  16. Install the steering column upper shroud. See Shroud - Upper - Steering Column (Remove and Replace) .
  17. Install the driver knee airbag. See Knee Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
  18. Install the LH center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  19. Install the driver inboard footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Inboard - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
  20. Install the driver outboard footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Outboard - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
  21. Install the LH front floor mat.
  22. Install the steering yoke/wheel. See Steering Yoke/Wheel (Remove And Replace) .
  23. Install the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
  24. Install the main instrument panel decor. See Decor - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace) .
  25. Connect the front passenger airbag electrical connectors (x3).

  26. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the IP carrier cross beam.

    3 N.m (2.2 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm socket

  27. Install the front passenger instrument panel duct. See Duct - Instrument Panel - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace) .
  28. Install the glove box. See Glove Box (Remove and Replace) .
  29. Install the front passenger knee airbag. See Knee Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace) .
  30. Install the RH center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  31. Install the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace) .
  32. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  33. Install the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  34. Install the RH front floor mat.
  35. Install the RH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  36. Install the RH sun visor bezel A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  37. Install the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  38. Install the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  39. Install the RH instrument panel middle trim. See Trim - Middle - Instrument Panel - RH (Remove and Replace) .
  40. Install the touchscreen. See Touchscreen (Remove and Replace) .
  41. Install the instrument panel service panel. See Service Panel - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace) .
  42. Install the center console phone dock. See Phone Dock - Center Console (Remove and Replace) .
  43. Install the wiper module. See Wiper Module (Remove and Replace) .
  44. Install the cowl screen panel. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace) .
  45. Install the RH wiper arm. See Wiper Arm - RH (Remove and Replace) .
  46. Install the LH wiper arm. See Wiper Arm - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  47. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install) .
  48. Install the underhood storage unit access panel. See Underhood Storage Unit Access Panel (Remove and Replace) .
  49. Install the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace) .
  50. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  51. Reconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) .
  52. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
  53. Restore the front passenger seat back to its original position.
  54. Install the LH instrument panel middle trim. See Trim - Middle - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  55. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  56. Install the LH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  57. Install the LH sun visor bezel A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  58. Install the LH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  59. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  60. Restore the steering column back to its original position.
  61. Restore the driver seat back to its original position.
  62. Calibrate the rear doors.
    NOTE: If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate  to calibrate the rear doors.
