Steering Controller - Remove and Replace: Remove

  1. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See SEAT CUSHION - LOWER - 2ND ROW (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD APRON - REAR (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  3. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV POWER (DISCONNECT AND CONNECT) .
  4. Remove the driver airbag. See AIRBAG - DRIVER (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  5. Disconnect the steering wheel electrical wiring harness from the connector.

  6. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH steering wheel switch connector.

  7. Disconnect the electrical harness from the RH steering wheel switch connector.

  8. Release the clips that attach the horn assembly, and then move the horn assembly to the side.

  9. Disconnect the electrical harness from the steering wheel controls ECU connector, and then remove the electrical harness from the steering wheel.

  10. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the bright surround to the steering wheel, and then remove the surround.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • T20 socket

  11. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the steering wheel controls ECU to the bright surround, and then remove the ECU from the surround.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • T10 Torx bit
