Module - Body Controller - LH (LHD) - Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Open all doors and lower all windows.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD APRON - REAR (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  3. Move the driver seat fully rearward.
  4. Disconnect 12 V power. See 12 V/LV POWER (DISCONNECT AND CONNECT) .
  5. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  6. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  7. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  8. Remove LH center console side panel carpet. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  9. Remove the driver footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
  10. Remove the driver knee airbag. See Airbag - Knee - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
  11. Remove the clip that attaches the LH carpet to the vehicle, and then fold the carpet rearward.

  12. Disconnect the headliner electrical connector.

  13. Remove the clips (x2) that attach the LH body harness to the body controller module area.

  14. Release the clip that attaches the electrical wiring harness to the LH body controller module.

  15. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J7 LH front door electrical connector from the LH body controller module.

  16. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J9 driver seat electrical connector from the LH body controller module.

  17. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J10 instrument panel electrical connector from the LH body controller module.
    NOTE: Use masking tape to label the connector as "J10" to avoid connecting the incorrect connector during installation.

  18. Disconnect the J11 HVAC electrical connector from the LH body controller module.

  19. Release clip that attaches the front wiring harness to the LH body controller module.

  20. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J1 power connector from the LH body controller module.

  21. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J5 body electrical connector from the LH body controller module.

  22. Disconnect the J6 front underhood storage connector from the LH body controller module.

  23. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J2 body electrical connector from the LH body controller module.

  24. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J4 body connector from the LH body controller module.
    NOTE: Use masking tape to label the connector as "J4" to avoid connecting the incorrect connector during installation.

  25. Remove the bolt that secures the LH body controller module to the vehicle.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm socket
    • 1/4 in std ratchet
    • 1/4 in torque wrench (installation only)
    • 2 in extension

  26. Release the clip that attaches the LH body controller module to the vehicle, and then slide the module downward to release the tab.

  27. Maneuver the LH body controller module from under the IP, and then remove it from the vehicle.
