Steering Rack (LHD) (1st Generation) - Remove And Replace: Removal

  1. Remove the front subframe. See SUBFRAME ASSEMBLY - FRONT - 1ST GENERATION (REMOVE AND INSTALL)
  2. Remove the LH and RH tie rod ends. See TIE ROD END - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) 
  3. Remove and discard the fasteners that secure the steering rack to the subframe (torque: forward fasteners 35 N.m and rear fasteners 135 N.m).

  4. Remove the steering rack from the front subframe.
