- Open the LH front door.
NOTE:
Do not latch the LH front door for the reminder of this procedure.
- Remove the HV battery HV Battery (AWD) (Remove And Install)
.
- Remove the bolt and nut that secure the upper intermediate shaft to the lower I-shaft link (torque 49 N.m).

- Separate the upper and lower intermediate shafts by pushing the upper intermediate shaft towards the steering wheel.
NOTE:
Do not turn the upper intermediate shaft to prevent misalignment of the steering wheel.

- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the LH footwell cover assembly Assembly - Cover - Footwell - Driver's (Remove And Replace)
- Remove the bolt that secures the upper intermediate shaft to the steering column (torque 30 N.m).
NOTE:
Do not turn the upper intermediate shaft to prevent misalignment of the steering wheel.

- Remove the upper intermediate shaft from the vehicle.
- Remove the seal from the vehicle.
