Liftgate Assembly - Remove And Install: Removal
- Remove the liftgate upper trough trim panel Trim - Liftgate Trough - Upper (Remove And Replace) .
- Use masking tape to mark the location of the liftgate hinge to the body.
- Loosen, but do not remove, the bolts (x4) that attach the liftgate to the body.
- Use a telescoping bar to support the liftgate in the open position.
Tip: Position the support bar against the bracket for better support.
- Release the strut clip from the LH liftgate strut, and then release the strut from the liftgate. Repeat this step for the RH liftgate strut.
- With assistance, remove the bolts that attach the liftgate to the body, and then remove the liftgate from the vehicle.
Torque 38 N.m
WARNING: This step requires at least 2 assistants to support and remove the liftgate from the vehicle.
