Mount - Clevis - Front Drive Unit - LH - Remove And Replace: Installation
- Position the new LH front drive unit clevis on the front drive unit, and then hand-tighten the new bolts that attach the clevis to the isolator.NOTE: The flat side of the clevis (circled) faces the rear of the vehicle.
Tip: Adjust the underhoist stand to align the mounting holes.
- Loosely thread new bolts (x2) that attach the LH front drive unit clevis to the side rail.
- Install the drive unit mount locating shims on the RH front drive unit mount. The callouts next to the shims in Figure A are explained below:
- 2-pronged shim tool : Position the 2-pronged shim around the RH drive unit mount front bushing (see Figure B).
- Hook shim tool : Reach beneath the drive unit and position the hook shim tool between the mount and outer bushing.
- Straight shim tool : Reach downward between the V-brace and cross brace and position the straight shim tool between the mount and inner bushing.
NOTE: Figure ANOTE: Figure B - Torque the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front drive unit clevis to the side rail (torque 65 N.m).
- Torque the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front drive unit clevis to the isolator (torque 50 N.m).
- Check that the drive unit mount locating shims are able to easily slide in and out of the mounts. If necessary, loosen and retorque the clevis bolts until the shims easily slide in and out of the mounts.
- Remove the drive unit mount locating shims from the vehicle.
- Remove the underhoist stand from the working area.
- Torque the bolts that attach the skidplate to the subframe (torque 9 N.m).
- Install the HV battery assembly. See HV BATTERY (AWD) (REMOVE AND INSTALL) .
- Install the front aero shield. See PANEL - AERO SHIELD - FRONT (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
- Install the 12V battery cage Cage - Battery - Auxiliary - 12V (Remove And Replace) .
