Module - Steering Column Control - Remove And Replace: Removal

  1. Remove the steering wheel STEERING WHEEL (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
    NOTE: Ensure that the wheels are in the straight ahead position before removing the steering wheel.
  2. Remove the driver's side lower dash trim Trim - Dash - Driver's Side - Lower (Remove And Replace) .
  3. Release the clips (x2) that secure the steering column cover to the instrument cluster bezel.

  4. Carefully rock the controller module 2-3 degrees back and forth to break the bond between the module and the steering column.

  5. Release the steering controller module from the shaft.
  6. Remove and discard the airbag harness retaining clip from the steering column module harness connector.
  7. Disconnect the steering column module harness connector.

  8. Remove the steering control module from the vehicle.
